Designer Ogawa Tomoko was given the name “Tomokissima” by her ballet master, at the age of 20.
In Italian, the extension “–issima” indicates the su- perlative of the name itself.
In time, this nickname gained so much fame, that one day Tomoko herself realized everyone started calling her “Tomokissima”.
Launching her “costume jewelry” brand, Tomoko’s wish was to make costumers feel in some way superla- tive wearing her jewels.
To achieve this primary goal, her artistic sensibility is the leading aspect in the process of creating always something excellent. She collects interesting materials from all over the world, using a technique developed on her own.
What comes out of her atelier aren’t just products, but works of art.
Tomokissima started in 2010 as a brand and is exclusively made in Milan. 
 
 
“TOMOKISSIMA”デザイナー、小川智子は、 二十歳の時、バレエの先生から、そう呼ばれていた。
イタリア語で、TOMOKOの最上級を意味する。 その愛称は周囲にも広がり、いつかTOMOKOは、 “TOMOKISSIMA”となった。
小川智子が、コスチューム・ジュエリーのブランドを 立ち上げた時、この名を選んだのは、ジュエリーを身 に着けてくれる方々もまた、
自分らしく最上級であって欲しいという願いもこめて。 自己の感性を大事にして、最高のものを創っていく。
おもしろいと思った素材を世界中から集め、独自に考案した技法で、ジュエリーを創造する。
そうやって ミラノのアトリエから生み出されたものは、 商品ではなく、作品だ、と小川智子は語る。
TOMOKISSIMAは 2010年にスタートし、すべてMADE IN MILAN。
